A Full Weekend of Fun

On Thursday, we went to see my OB for a follow-up appointment. MiMi and Pops were able to come and babysit Jeremy, so Christian and I could focus on the appointment and sneak away to a daytime date at one of our favorite restaurants. I am healing well. My OB explained that even though she had to remove part of my left ovary, we should still be able to get pregnant and everything looks good. An ectopic pregnancy on an ovary only occurs in 1/10,000 people—she said that I am special. Not exactly the special thing that I would like to be…but hopefully that means that the chances of it reoccurring are low.
On Friday, my Mom’s club had a clothing swap. We were signed up to bring snacks for the kids. So for the healthy eaters, we chopped up a ton of fruit. And for the rest of the kids, we made rice krispy treats. Jeremy’s job was to pour on the sprinkles—and he was so excited to get to help Momma in the kitchen! He also helped me to use cookie cutters to make shapes out of the treats. They were hit!
That's 2/3 of a jar of sprinkles.
Jeremy chose to make circles and stars.

Jeremy was thrilled to get to stand on the ladder.
On Saturday, we went to Jeremy’s MyGym class again. Any time that we say something like, “We are going to do something fun today” or “What do you want to do today?” Jeremy replies, “gym?” He absolutely loves it there.

Jeremy loves to run up and down ramps.
Working hard to stay on the rungs of the ladder.
On Sunday, we walked to the Art and Wine Festival in Downtown Mountain View. The highlight for Jeremy was definitely getting to drive the real fire truck. While in line, he kept tapping his chest saying, “Nare-my, Nare-my’s turn!”

Playing in the I-tikes bus--I wish these worked with Android!
Practicing the piano.
Saur-Saur! (aka Dinosaur!)

So excited about the fire truck.

Nare-my's turn to drive!

And to push all the buttons.

Checking out the truck.

To bad he can no longer aspire to be an astronaut.
On Tuesday, we decided to fingerpaint some art for Mimi and Grie’s birthdays. We had some friends over and let the kids dive in. It was fun to see how each kid responded differently to the paint. Jeremy smeared it all around—and eventually added a pound of mud to the mix. Aaron used it as face paint. Vivienne very carefully painted with just her fingertips. At one point, Jeremy smeared red and blue together and shouted, "Purple!" My teacher-side is so proud. I am excited that Jeremy is reaching an age where we can do more art projects together—Pinterest here we come!

Aaron fell down, so Jeremy is helping him up!

Such a helper!

Some funny Jeremy-isms

Christian was squirting Jeremy with water in the bathtub. Jeremy was telling Christian where to squirt him…”Knees! Toes! Belly Button! Hair! Dada!” So…Christian had to squirt himself.
Jeremy is very proud of his belly button. He loves showing it off to any and everyone, and he loves getting raspberries on it too. After seeing my belly, he said, “boo boo.” Later on, he pulled up his shirt and questioned, “boo boo?” And now, he keeps telling me “Momma boo boo” and looking at his belly and saying, “belly button.”
Jeremy calls himself “Nare-my.” Although it is so sweet to hear him say it, I don’t really understand why he doesn’t say it with a “J’ sound. He knows the letter J and lots of j-words, like jelly, Jan-Jan (Jana), and Jep-jay (Jeopardy), so I am uncertain why he doesn’t say his own name clearer.

Labor Day Weekend

I will just sit right here!

And Vivienne joins in too.

Checking out the fish at the PA Jr Museum

And petting a "squirrel"

Gilroy Gardens

We spent a day at Gilroy Gardens with Aaron and Jana. I think the pictures tell the story best!

Time to ride the strawberries!

Jeremy was afraid this time...hopefully he will like it again.

Aaron on the carousel.

Jeremy had no desire to ride a horse, but he is chilling with Dada on the benches.
Running through the rock wall maze.

How can this much plaid not be adorable?

Feeding the goats in the petting zoo.

Ducks!

The baby goats were only a day old.

So tame!

I love goats!

Checking out the stationary tractor--almost as good as the live animals.

"No Dada! Jeremy's turn!"
Aaron takes a turn.

Riding the rainbow boats like a big boy.

Jana and Aaron on the boat in front of us.

Best friends on a ledge.

Cute!

Ready to drive (aka steer) the cars.

Driving with Dada

I'm glad we get to wait 15 years before this one hits the roads!

Messy Party

Jeremy and I are members of a Moms Club. Basically, the club has many activities that stay at home moms can participate in, in order to keep us all sane. We meet at parks, museums, restaurants, homes, etc—anywhere the kiddos can play safely. This week, we got to take part in a “Messy Party” at a nearby park. Each playgroup in the club created a messy activity that the kids could explore and discover. These included:
            --Pool of spaghetti
            --Painting with colored whipped cream
            --Finding creepy-crawlies in colored water
            --Water balloons covered in pudding
            --Diet coke and Mentos demonstration
Jeremy kept his distance from the pool of spaghetti. He seemed confused/mesmerized by the spraying diet coke. He did enjoy the water tables and mixing/stirring the whipped cream. Check out some of the messy photos!
Searching for snakes and bugs in the blue water.

Watching the Diet Coke explode with Mentos.

Mixing colors in the whipped cream.

Jeremy likes to do anything this girl does :)
