Cross-Country Baby Shower

A surprise box arrived last week!

I found out later that my family had been conspiring with Christian to plan a Cross-Country baby shower to celebrate our little one. The box contained a complete baby shower—instructions, decorations, a script, and gifts. After decorating our dining room table, icing a cake, and saying scripted lines, like “This is so much fun!” and “These are so cute,” we joined our family members on Skype in order share the time with everyone. My mother and sister obviously spent many hours planning and collaborating in order to make this event both special and memorable. We thank them whole-heartedly!!!

During the shower, my sister administered a battery of tests to determine the gender of our baby. West (my nephew) cheered each time the answer was “a boy!” But, after all the questions were completed, the score was 15 for a boy and 15 for a girl. I guess we are going to have to wait a few more weeks!

We played the guess circumference of the baby bump game. I find it funny (and somewhat insulting) that my grandmother thinks I am bigger around than I am tall—70 inches! Thanks
Heather (my cousin) for guessing correctly!

Thanks to everyone who participated and attended the shower. We will have so much fun gearing up for the baby! We really appreciate your love and support!
